Swinging Jam in Slumberland

In poems on August 25, 2010 at 03:14

Now we turn the tv off;

go to bed, that’s really tough!

______________

Julian an’ I, on a boat to slumberland,

joining for a jam, littl’ Nemo and his band.

Some wind, a sail here, a sail there,

not more does it take, to get there.

A short story ‘bout a sword,

brings our boat to the port.

For King Arthur, we’d have fought,

but that actor, not a thought.

In real life, there’s so much more,

we’ll see later on the shore.

Julian’s eyes had one more look,

and here we go, close that book.

Is it snorting or is it storm?

Well, something’s drooling in the dorm!

Little Nemo calls out loud,

for does he know that we’re about.

Captain Julian takes my hand,

leads me safely to the land.

Later on, we both found out,

that our ship sank to the ground.

But for now, we’re really proud,

‘cause we’re singing for the crowd.

If of the story, you want the end,

you must com’ yourself to slumberland.

Before, please tell the captain’s mom,

that sure, for breakfast, we will come.

______________

- for young Julian, with love -
